Drop-out fuse cutouts and load-switching fuse cutouts are outdoor high-voltage protection devices. A drop-out fuse assembly consists of an insulator support and a fuse tube. Fixed contacts are mounted on both sides of the insulator support, and moving contacts are installed at both ends of the fuse tube. The interior of the fuse tube is an arc-extinguishing tube, while the exterior is made of phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth. Load-switching fuse cutouts are additionally equipped with extended auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing chamber for load current switching.
